Join the VSWCD BioBlitz April 28-May 1, 2023!

Valencia Soil & Water Conservation District invites Valencia County residents to explore nature in and around your community and share your observations from April 28th to May 1, 2023. Help us compete against locations all over the world!

It’s easy to participate:

  1. Set up an account on iNaturalist.org or in the iNaturalist  app, and join the Valencia SWCD BioBlitz.
  2. Take and submit your photos of animals and their signs (tracks, scat, feathers, etc.), plants, and fungi that you find during the challenge. You can observe anywhere in Valencia County, Laguna Reservation, and Isleta Reservation!
  3. Help identify others’ observations, and have iNaturalist and its community help you, thru May 7th.

We are doing this as part of the City Nature Challenge, which is an annual global collaborative effort to find and document wildlife observations in and around urban areas, organized by the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and California Academy of Sciences. Join nature enthusiasts worldwide while discovering the biodiversity in your area!
