Whitfield Under the Stars! November 11 (5:30-8:30pm)

Join us at 5:30 for a live owl presentation by Laura McCann… Ms. McCann is our VSWCD Education Manager and she has state and federal permits to work with injured non-releasable birds-of-prey. She has been working with birds since 2005 and is a raptor specialist. Come meet a Great Horned Owl and learn more about owls and their importance in our ecosystem!

After the owl presentation and after dark (about 6:30pm), we will have a Night Sky Talk by Mr. Jim Greenhouse. Mr. Greenhouse is the Space Science Director at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science in Albuquerque. He will show us constellations and other cool phenomenons in the night sky!

We will have at least one telescope on site for public viewing. If you have a telescope, you are welcome to bring it to the event!

Our Friends of Whitfield group will provide FREE peppermint hot chocolate for those who attend!
